Francesco Giglio Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Glenmont–Francesco Giglio, 67, passed away suddenly on August 19, 2021. Frank was born in Sorbo San Basile, Italy he was the son of the late Giacomo and Rosa Scalise Giglio. Frank retired from the Capital District Psychiatric Center after almost 40 years of service. Frank lived life to the fullest and immensely enjoyed his family, friends, cooking for others, gardening, the horses, the casino and playing bocci. His most endearing trait and one we will most remember him for is his sense of humor and endless funny stories. The yearly ritual of sauce, sopressata and wine making was very special to him and he loved sharing the experience as well as the results with all. He was a member of the Polish American Citizens Club and the West Albany Italian Benevolent Society. Frank was an incredible husband, father, uncle, cousin and friend to all! He touched so many lives and we will truly be missed by all who knew him. He was the beloved husband for 29 years of Patricia Gecewicz Giglio, father of Giacomo (Maria Foglia) and Caterina (Alex Stewart). Grandfather to his precious fur babies Gemma, Jojo and Duke. Best friend and side kick to Carl C. Shank. Many nieces and nephews, cousins and large extended family and friends. Funeral services Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 10:00 am at the Parish of St. Francis of Assisi (Delaware Ave. Worship Site) Albany, NY where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family Wednesday morning at the Church, 8:30 am to 10:00 am. Masks and social distancing is observed. The Rite of Committal will be held at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY immediately following the Funeral Mass.
