Joan M. Esopi

Watervliet-Joan M. Esopi, 88, died Thursday, November 12, 2015 in the hospice at Memorial Hospital. Born in Albany she was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Fischer Bradt. Joan worked at the Capital in food service for over 30 years. She volunteered for over 12 years at Albany Memorial Hospital. For many years Joan enjoyed spending the winter in Florida with her family. She was the wife of the late Lamont J. Esopi; beloved mother of Donna L. Esopi, Augie Esopi (Kathy) and the late Joseph J. Esopi; cherished grandmother of Tammy Verhagen (Jim), August J. Esopi (Joanna), Nicholas F. Esopi, Vincent D. Esopi (Kristen), Danielle Yannotti (Peter) and Jenna O. Esopi; great grandmother of Huntur, Haidyn and Joseph; loving companion of Sam Monaco; lifelong friend of Millie Shumway. Everyone is invited to visit with Joan’s family Sunday, November 15, 2015 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are invited to gather in the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, now located at 208 North Allen Street, Albany on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 12:00 pm for a simple prayer service.
