Nancy M. Restifo

Albany-Nancy M. Restifo, 96, died Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Good Samaritan Nursing Home after a brief illness. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Carmelo and Concetta Losi Mirabile. Nancy was predeceased by her beloved husband in 2003, Anthony J. Restifo Sr. Nancy graduated from Philip Schuyler High School in 1936. She worked for the IRS in Albany for 42 years, receiving and award in 1983 for outstanding work. Nancy was a member of the Catholic Woman’s Service League, the American Italian Heritage Association and the National Retired Association for Federal Employees. Nancy enjoyed traveling with her beloved husband Tony to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Florida, California and Las Vegas. Her most treasured times were spending holidays with family, and vacationing with them at the Jersey Shore, Atlantic City and Wildwood Crest. Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Good Samaritan Nursing Home for the care and compassion they gave Nancy. She was the beloved wife of the late Anthony J. Restifo Sr; dear mother of Anthony J. Restifo Jr; sister of Evelyn Benneci and the late Joseph A. Mirabile; aunt of Angela Currie (Doug) and Charles A. Mirabile (Theresa); great aunt of Joseph Mirabile (Stephanie), Daniel Mirabile and Matthew Mirabile; great grandaunt of Karleigh Mirabile and Nicholas Mirabile; dear cousin of Anthony Losi (Queenie) and their children, Joe, John and Jill and grandchildren Nikita and Antonina; sister-in-law of Phil Restifo (Dorothy); dear friend and companion of Jen Commerford for her care giving; other nieces and nephews survive. Funeral services Monday, November 24, 2014 at 10:30 from Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, now located at 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to the Parish of Mater Christi at 11:00 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may visit Sunday, November 23, 2014 2:00 to 4:00pm in the funeral home. Interment Calvary Cemetery, Glenmont.
