Florence D. Swartz

Clifton Park -- Florence D. Swartz (Konopski) 91, beloved aunt, passed away in the arms of her nephew and his wife, Alfie and Maureen Connors, at home on June 26, 2015. Florence was born in Albany, New York on November 7, 1923 and was the daughter of the late Andrew and Felicia Rocminska Konopski. She was also predeceased by her beloved companion William Francella, Sr. and their dog Brandy. Florence lived in Clifton Park with her nephew and his wife where she was the "light of their life", before that she lived in Albany. She loved spending time with her family, John's kitty cats, being silly, dancing and roller skating. She was a certified nursing assistant at Albany Memorial Hospital for more than 20 years, retiring in 1965. Florence is survived by her nieces and nephews, Alfred (Maureen) Connors, Robert (Linda) Connors, Thomas (Lee) Connors, Caroline (late George) Lampropoulos, Marcia (Doug) Gagnon, Carol (Harry) Duncan and the late Sharon (late Jim) Connors; also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Pauline Wilkins and Mary Connors, and her brothers Steven, Andrew, John and Joseph Konopski. The family would like to thank Dr. Ara Kayayan, Jean and Diane of Prime Care Physicians, Amanda Picard of the Eddy VNA, Dr. Kevin Dooley of Home Visiting Physicians and Pat Burgess of Hospice for the care they provided Florence. A special thank you to John, Marlene, Brian and Brittney Neary and Barbara Cain for their love, compassion, prayers and support. Also, thank you to Clifton Park/Halfmoon Emergency Corps. and NYS Police during a most difficult time. Funeral services Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at 1:00 pm in the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, now located at 208 North Allen Street, Albany with Father Patrick Butler officiating. Relatives and friends are invited and may call after 12:00 pm in the funeral home. Entombment will follow the service at Albany Rural Cemetery, Menands.
