Francis A. Kowalski

Loudonville-Francis A. Kowalski, 89, entered Eternal Life Saturday, June 23, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Joseph and Michalina Govel Kowalski. Frank served, along with all 5 of his brothers, in WW II in the US Army, signing up at 17 years old. He also served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Frank worked very hard his entire life and was the founder and president of Albany Air Cargo. A company he successfully ran for many years with his eldest son, John. Frank was a lifelong member of the Polish American Citizens Club, and the American Legion for over 50 years. He was a dedicated husband and father who gave Shirley and his children a wonderful life. He was so proud of his grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to brag about them. He was very close to his siblings and loved all his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews very much. Frank was a very smart person who loved to discuss politics at length, talk with his neighbors on Joy Drive and joke around with his friends. He was funny and kind and charming. More than anything, he was someone that took care of everyone. His greatest joy in life was being able to help and support his family, friends, and even strangers. If you needed something, he was there. He will be missed very much by all who knew him, and his family feels blessed for having loved him. He was the husband of the late Shirley Coogan Kowalski; father of John Cox (Danielle), Bill Cox (Donna), Tim Cox, Mary Cooper (Steve) and Beth DeSanta; grandfather of Krystal Cox, Krystiphor Cox, Tom Cox, Jordin Cox, Haley Cox, Jaqi Cox, Kylie Cooper, Tyler Cox, Carson Cox, Dylan Fox, Spencer Cooper and Jackson Cox; great grandfather of Julian and Audriana; brother of Mary Wilgocki (Larry), Elizabeth Raczkowski (Stanley) and the late Anthony Kowalski, Stanley Kowalski, Casmir Kowalski (Virginia), Joseph Kowalski (Mary), George Kowalski, Kathryn Osielski (Joseph) and Theresa Walsh (Jack); best friend of Sue Wesoloski and Connie Cola; dear friend of the late Shirley Taylor. Funeral services Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 9:15 am in Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home thence to Christ Our Light Catholic Church, Loudonville, NY at 10:00 am where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated.
