John J. Grubsick

Albany-John J. Grubsick, 88, died Saturday, August 29, 2015 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Albany, he was the son of the late Samuel and Louise Bjudevita Grubsick. John graduated from Vincentian Institute and attended University of Wisconsin. He was an Administrative Clerk for New York State Department of Homeland Security. John was a former auditor for 40 years at the State Bank of Albany. He was a member of the Pruyn House and the Quarter Century Club of State Bank of Albany. He was a former member of the Albany Elks. John enjoyed traveling and playing cards. He took great pride in his work and his family meant everything to him. His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you those who cared for John, especially Dr. Ian Santoro and staff, Dr. Jill Gradner, the staff at St. Peter’s Hospital Cardiac Care Unit, Linda of Scotts hallmark and all of John’s co-workers. He was the husband of the late Josephine Eretano Grubsick; father of Elizabeth R. Kelly and Judy M. Rosenberger (Peter); grandfather of Patricia Kundel (Doug), Michael Kelly (Cyndi), Joseph Kelly (Sara), Peter Rosenberger (Wendi) and Kimberly Rosenberger; great grandfather of Matt, Mark, Alex, Ian, Lauren, Ryan, Jack, Ben, Martin and Joseph; great great grandfather of Aiden, Brady, and Annabelle; brother of the late Francis Grubsick. Funeral services Tuesday, September1, 2015 at 8:15 am from the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, now located at 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to St. Pius X Church, Loudonville at 9:00 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will immediately follow the Mass at St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands, NY. Relatives and friends are invited and may visit with John’s family Monday, 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
