Mary Ann Micheri

Delmar-Mary Ann Micheri, 75, died Saturday, October 20, 2012 in the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Albany she attended Vincentian Institute and went on to earn her BA at Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY. She was employed by the New York State Health Department for over 20 years and retired in 2000 as a Health Program Administrator for the AIDS Institute. Mary Ann was a member of the Italian American Community Center where she enjoyed playing Bocce and was president of the Woman’s League for two years. She was also a member of the American Italian Heritage Club. Mary Ann was a former member of the Empire and Eastern Division of the Toy Train Operating Society. She enjoyed collecting and operating Lionel trains and was web designer and web master of the Division’s original website. She was also the editor of their monthly newsletter for several years. Mary Ann loved animals and enjoyed feeding birds, squirrels, toads and the many other creatures that visited her backyard and fishpond every day. She was a member of the National Humane Society and the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA). She was an avid gardener and took pleasure in the many people who purposely walked by her home to enjoy her front garden. Children delighted in discovering the many little garden animal ornaments placed among the flowers. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. She and her grandchildren enjoyed her collection of musical clocks and her extensive collection of Beanie Babies. She is survived by her beloved canine companions Rosebud “Rosie” and Alexandria “Alex”. Mary Ann was the daughter of the late Anna Mary (Musella) and Robert Rosario Micheri. Also survived by her five children Robert Williams, Jr (Diane), Roger Williams (Audrey), Kelly Pierce (Gerald), David Williams (Ellen McGrann) and Deborah Farley (Brion). Mary Ann is also survived by ten grandchildren Jennifer Fera (Jason), Charles and Kerstin Williams, Kristine and Alexa Williams, Emily, Sara and Allyson Williams, and Anna and Jack Farley; one great granddaughter Alexis Fera. She is also survived by her sisters Rosemarie Thombs and Barbara Fagan. Funeral services Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 10:00 am from Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, now located at 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to the Parish of Mater Christi, Albany at 10:30am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may call Tuesday, October 23, 2012 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the funeral home.
