Norma Bastiani Boice

Albany-Norma Bastiani Boice, 79, died Wednesday October 8, 2014 after a short illness. She was born in Albany, NY and resided in the Capital Region until 1992, when she moved with her husband to Tampa, FL. Due to poor health, Norma relocated back to Albany from Brooksville, FL in September, 2014. Norma was a graduate of Cathedral Academy in Albany. She later attended HVCC, working towards an accounting degree while her own children were attending college. She was a dedicated student, achieving an “A” average and setting an excellent example for her children. Norma worked as a bookkeeper at numerous businesses throughout the capital region, always impressing those she worked for with her dedication and loyalty. However, Norma’s first and foremost dedication was to her husband, Eugene, the family they raised, and the home she maintained. Norma loved to entertain family and friends, and the feasts she prepared were legend in her own family. She was an expert gardener, a master seamstress, and a voracious reader. She was also an adventurous traveler and once rode an elephant in the River Kwai. Norma was predeceased by her soul mate and the love of her life, Eugene T. Boice; her brother Amos Bastiani and her son John Patrick Boice. She is survived by her son Michael (Teresa) Boice of Wappinger Falls, NY, her daughter Jean (Charles) Mahserjian of Clifton Park, NY, her daughter Judith (Joan) Boice of Yardley, PA, and her son Matthew Boice of Homosassa, FL; her grandchildren Lindsey, Ashley and Caitlin Mahserjian and Tara and Alec Boice; her great granddaughter Hayleigh Russell; her brother John (Kathy) Bastiani of Bordentown, NJ, her sister Barbara (Charles) Hendrickson of Goodyear, AZ, her sister Dolores Fields of Orlando, FL, and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be on Sunday from 4-8 PM at Lasak and Gigliotti Funeral Home, now located at 208 North Allen Street, Albany, NY 12206. Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Monday at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 125 Eagle Street, Albany, NY 12202.
