Theodore J. Cillis Jr.

Latham-Theodore J. Cillis Jr, 82, enter Eternal Life Tuesday, May 10, 2022. Ted was born in Albany to the late Theodore and Julia Cillis on June 27, 1939. He graduated from Philip Schuyler Academy, and went on to become a printer apprentice at Clarity Publishing. He then pursued his passion for owning his residential building business. For over 50 years he built custom homes in the Capital District. As the owner of Ted Cillis Builders, he had great pride in the quality of work and the personal relationships he developed with the families. He enjoyed traveling to Florida; he loved Clearwater Beach and Marco Island. Ted was a devoted NY Yankees fan. During the summer, Ted enjoyed spending Sundays at Saratoga Race Track. Later in life, Ted was often found in his blue chair betting ponies on his iPad while watching the races on TV. Ted had a love for life. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Nothing made Ted happier than having glazed donuts with Mike and Loren. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years, the love of his life, Mary Cillis. He leaves behind three children, Cheryl Petilli (Michael), Theodore Cillis III (Rosemary), and Teresa Kirker (Jay). He had seven grandchildren, Michael, Nicole, Kayla, Teddy, Joey, Jessie and Kelly, and one great grandchild, Roma. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Ted was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Cillis. The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the NYOH doctors and staff who helped him through this journey. Funeral services Saturday, May 14, 2022 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of the Assumption Church, Latham, NY where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery immediately following the Mass.
