Ida Mancuso

October 2, 1925 - October 8, 2013

Albany-Ida Mancuso, 88, died Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at Teresian House. Born in Simeri Crichi, (Catanzaro) Italy she was the daughter of the late Francesco and Teresa Ricelli Zampa. Ida retired in 1983 as a cleaning lady for New York State Office of General Services where she began working in 1965. She was an active member of church societies at the former St. Anthony’s Church on Grand Street in Albany. Ida enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and canning. She was the wife of the late Peter Mancuso; beloved mother of Teresa Audino (late Cosimo), Angela Futia (Carlo), Antoinette Giglio (Frank), Josephine Commisso (Ralph), Tony Mancuso (Diane), Ann Marie Mancuso, Frank Mancuso (Annie) and the late Mary Mancuso; sister of Rosina Zampa of Italy; survived by 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. The family would like to thank nurses and staff of the 3rd floor at Teresian House for their kindness and compassionate care. Funeral services Saturday, October 12, 2013 at 8:15 am from the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, now located at 208 North Allen Street, Albany thence to All Saints Catholic Church, Albany at 9:00 am where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited and may respectfully call Friday, October 11, 2013 3:00 to 7:00 pm in the funeral home. Interment St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
