Iris Marini

September 11, 1917 - October 19, 2012

Albany – Iris Nuccetelli Marini, 95, formerly of Colonie passed away peacefully on Friday, October 19, 2012 at the Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home with her family by her side. She was predeceased by her mother Victoria, her father Casimirro, her husband Alfred, and her son Peter. Iris was born in Italy, town of Scurcola Marsicana, on September 11, 1917 and moved to Yonkers NY as a child with her family. Iris became a US citizen in 1927. She met Alfred and they moved to the Town of Colonie in 1947 where she supported her husband in starting the family business of Al Marini & Sons, General Contractor and Home Builder. Iris was a dedicated homemaker and mother to support her husband and raise her sons. Iris was a person of great faith and always found good in everyone. She devoted her life to loving and nurturing her sons. Iris loved to cook, and enjoyed crocheting, knitting, dancing and especially making homemade pizza for family gatherings. Iris was a dressmaker and could sew anything which she did for her sons and grandchildren. Iris loved and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren on a daily basis. She was a wonderful, kind and loving person. Iris is survived by her sons Robert (Nancy) and Richard (Fran), daughter in law Linda Kulzer, sisters Velia and Flo, brothers Albert and Dan, grandchildren Robert Jr. (Monica), Michael (Kim), Steven (Lisa), Joseph, Dan (Eaen), Alisa (Matt), Liz, and Chris. Great-grandchildren Justin, Brandon, Nicholas, Megan, Tyler, Jessica, Hailey, Alex, Arden, Peter, and Gregory. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to thank the Loudonville Home, Daughters of Sarah Nursing Home, Fr. Farano, and the St. Pius X Pastoral Ministry for their care and compassion that Iris received in recent years. All are welcome to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated by Fr. Walsh at St. Pius X Church in Loudonville NY on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 1:00 PM.
