Rose LaFalce

December 10, 1920 - February 17, 2012

Delmar-Rose Genovesi LaFalce, 91, formerly of Slingerlands, passed away peacefully Friday, February 17, 2012 at her home at Delmar Place surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 10, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Frances Antinucci Genovesi and sister of the late Thomas and Salvatore Genovesi and Gloria Presti. Rose was predeceased by her loving husband of 65 years, Joseph John LaFalce. She is survived by her three devoted daughters, Frances A. LaFalce of Clifton Park, Jo Ann LaFalce and her husband Ed Perry of Natick, MA and Denise LaFalce Jordan of Glenmont. She is also survived by her three cherished grandchildren, Christopher Jordan of Selkirk, Timothy Jordan of Glenmont and Kimberly Perry of Natick, MA as well as many loving nieces, nephews and godchildren. Rose was born and raised in Albany, graduated from Philip Schuyler High School and lived much of her adult life in Albany before settling down in Slingerlands. She was a proud member of the Pat Aiezza Post 1181 Catholic War Veterans and the LaSalle Women’s League. She worked for the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance for 20 years. Rose enjoyed cooking, gardening, playing cards and most of all spending time with her family. She will always be remembered as a kind, gentle, caring and dignified woman who made wonderful Italian meals and excellent apple pie. Rose was an angel on earth and now she is an angel in Heaven. Thank you Jesus, for our time on Earth with her. The family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Delmar Place and The Community Hospice. Funeral services Monday, February 20, 2012 at 1:00 pm in the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, now located at 208 North Allen Street, Albany.
