Helen Mary Baranowski

Albany- Helen Mary Baranowski, 88, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 surrounded by her loving family and friends. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Alice Vink Hendrickson. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph P. Baranowski. Helen was a longtime Court Administrator for the City of Albany Traffic Court. Helen was a life member of the PACC, and also a member of the PCC Auxiliary, the Albany County American Legion Auxiliary, and the Joseph E. Zaloga Post 1520 Auxiliary, where she received a national award for membership. Through her membership at the Zaloga Post, Helen volunteered for many years at the VA Hospital in Albany. She enjoyed working BINGO on Friday nights at the Post for years, and loved going gambling and travelling with her friends whenever she could. Helen is survived by her daughter Donna (Messenger) Bennett; 2 granddaughters, Janet Shea and Monica (Robert) Epstein; 9 great grandchildren, Sean Shea, AJ Abbas, Gavin and Alexis Root, William Jr., Victoria and Megan Kuchta, and Sammy and Sara Epstein. She is also survived by her sister Mary (Thomas) Myers, and her brother Roy (Late Angie) Hendrickson; predeceased by her brother Donald Hendrickson (Mary Ann) and her sister Agnes (Thomas) McLaughlin. Helen’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of Albany County Hospice for their care and compassion. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Helen’s family on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home, now located at 208 North Allen Street, Albany. Funeral services from the Lasak & Gigliotti Funeral Home on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at 8:15 am thence to Blessed Sacrament Church, Albany at 9:00 am where her funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Interment will immediately follow the Mass at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Colonie.
